In short (not part of the notices)
- The Software is built with 139 third-party components, mostly open source, each under its own license, with full texts under About › Third-party notices.
- 131 of them use permissive licenses (MIT, ISC, BSD, Apache 2.0 and others) or are in the public domain.
- A few (FFmpeg, two setup-program plug-ins, certifi, parts of Chromium) are under the LGPL or the MPL. We do not change their source code, which is public (section 5).
- The AI Models are not in the installer, and in 2.0 none can be downloaded yet (Coming soon). Others publish them under the Apache License 2.0; we say what we changed in the one file we convert.
- Nothing in our EULA takes away any right that these licenses give you.

LivingRoom Open-Source Notices Draft 2 of 2026-10-25 - not yet in effect
These Open-Source Notices are published by Point of the Mountain Software LLC, a Utah limited liability company ("Company", "we", "us", "our"), for its LivingRoom software ("Software"). Capitalised words have the meaning given in our End User License Agreement ("EULA").
1. What this page is
1.1 The Software includes software written by others ("components"), mostly open source; a few are parts that Microsoft or individual authors allow software makers to pass on. Each component is licensed to you by its authors under its own license, not by us.
1.2 This page is a notice. The Software itself is licensed to you under the EULA.
1.3 It describes the current release; each version also installs its own notices file (section 2). If they differ, please tell us (section 9).
2. Where to find the full license texts
2.1 In the Software: About › Third-party notices shows the notices file of your installed version.
2.2 As a file: resources\THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt in the installation folder: each component's version, license,
use and, for open-source components, project address (source repository or home page), with the full license and
notice texts.
2.3 Electron and Chromium: LICENSE.electron.txt and LICENSES.chromium.html, in the installation folder.
2.4 The AI Assistant's runtime: llama.cpp's license files, in resources\llama.
2.5 On the Website: a copy of the notices file for the current release [not yet available].
3. The components at a glance
3.1 Version 2.0.0 has 139 components:
| License | Kind | Components |
|---|---|---|
| MIT 85, ISC 14, BSD 3-Clause 8, Apache 2.0 5, the Unlicense 2, other permissive 17 | Permissive or public domain | 131 |
| GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) 2.1 or later | Weak copyleft | 3 |
| Mozilla Public License (MPL) 2.0 | Weak copyleft (per file) | 1 |
| PyInstaller bootloader: GNU GPL 2.0 or later with an exception, and Apache 2.0 | Copyleft with an exception | 1 |
| Chromium: BSD 3-Clause, plus its built-in code's licenses | Mixed (includes LGPL and MPL parts) | 1 |
| Microsoft Visual C++ runtime: Microsoft's distributable-code terms | Proprietary, may be redistributed | 1 |
| Three NSIS plug-ins: Zlib, and one author's freeware statement | Permissive / freeware | 1 |
3.2 Keeping the list up to date. Every build checks its packages and backend files against a reviewed list and stops if one is missing, its license or version has changed, or the notices file is out of date. A non-permissive license needs a written review; the runtimes (the AI Assistant's included) and the setup program's parts are reviewed by hand.
4. Main components
Electron 44.9.3 (Chromium 152.0.7977.167), Python 3.14.8, SQLite3 Multiple Ciphers 2.5.1 on SQLite 3.53.4, llama.cpp b11669, the PyInstaller bootloader 6.22.3, NSIS 3.12, the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime 14 and the English (US) spelling dictionary 2020.12.07 (Hunspell en_US from SCOWL; SCOWL, Ispell and WordNet notices, other sources public domain). The notices file names every component with its version and license.
5. Components under copyleft licenses
5.1 What "copyleft" means here. The LGPL and the MPL allow a component to be used inside software that is not open source, provided its own source code stays available to those who receive it.
5.2 The components.
- FFmpeg (
ffmpeg.dll, Electron 44.9.3's build without proprietary codecs), LGPL 2.1 or later: Chromium's media library, a separate, unmodified file loaded by Electron. Source: Electron's v44.9.3 release (assetffmpeg-v44.9.3-win32-x64.zip); Chromium'sthird_party/ffmpegat 152.0.7977.167. - Nsis7z plug-in 19.00 (based on 7-Zip), LGPL 2.1 or later: a separate file the setup program uses to unpack the Software. Source: 7-Zip 19.00 at 7-zip.org; the plug-in's page on the NSIS website.
- StdUtils plug-in 1.1.4, LGPL 2.1 or later (its author also states that an installer calling the unmodified plug-in is not a work based on it): a separate file in the setup program. Source: github.com/lordmulder/stdutils.
- certifi 2026.10.23, MPL 2.0: the unmodified list of trusted certificate authorities for secure connections. Source: github.com/certifi/python-certifi.
- Chromium 152.0.7977.167, in Electron 44.9.3: BSD 3-Clause, some parts LGPL 2.1 or MPL 2.0 (see
LICENSES.chromium.html). We do not change its source code; the build renames Electron's program file, adds our icon and version details and sets switches Electron provides. Source: the Chromium and Electron public repositories.
5.3 Two other licenses. The PyInstaller bootloader's GPL carries an exception allowing its distribution with other programs, including commercial ones. One package in llama.cpp's built-in web interface is offered under the MPL 2.0 or Apache 2.0; we use Apache 2.0, and the Software never serves that interface.
5.4 What we do, and what you may do. We do not change the source code of these components; FFmpeg and the two
plug-ins ship as their publishers' files. We include their license texts and notices and
name where their source is published. Under their licenses, you may obtain their source code and, for an LGPL
library, use a modified version (for example your own build of the same FFmpeg version as ffmpeg.dll). Our
EULA does not stop you (section 7).
5.5 Written offer of source code. For at least 3 years after we last distribute a version of the Software, anyone who has received that version may ask us for the complete source code that corresponds to the components in it that are licensed under the LGPL or the MPL, including those parts of Chromium. Write to support@livingroomlogistics.com and name the version (shown under About). We will provide the source code as a download. If you ask, we will send it on a physical medium instead, for no more than our cost of making and sending it. [to be confirmed]
6. AI Models
6.1 Not part of the installer. No AI Model is in the installer; in 2.0.0, where the AI Assistant is a Coming Soon Feature, none can be downloaded. Once one is available, an Admin chooses whether to download it; the Software downloads one model file and checks its size and fingerprint. An Admin may also install a recognised model file obtained elsewhere; it then comes from that source, not from us.
6.2 The AI Models offered, both under the Apache License 2.0:
- Qwen3.5 4B (recommended), by the Qwen team (copyright Alibaba Cloud): converted by us from
Qwen/Qwen3.5-4Bon Hugging Face (commit851bf6e8), downloaded from our own download host (Cloudflare R2, under our account) [to be confirmed]. - Granite 4.2 3B, by IBM: IBM's own file, unchanged, from
ibm-granite/granite-4.2-3b-GGUFon Hugging Face (commitc40945d7).
6.3 What we changed in the Qwen3.5 4B file. Its publisher offers no file in the Software's format, so we converted it to GGUF (llama.cpp's script), kept only its text (language) part and quantised it (lower numeric precision, llama.cpp's "Q4_K_M" type). We did not train or fine-tune it and made no other change; quantisation can make its answers differ slightly from the original's.
6.4 Licenses and notices. The Apache License 2.0 lets you use, copy, change and pass on the AI Models on its conditions (text in the notices file and at apache.org).
- [not yet available] Our host will keep, next to our Qwen3.5 4B file, the Apache License 2.0, Alibaba Cloud's copyright notice and a note of the changes in 6.3.
- [not yet available] The Software will say "converted by us" wherever it names that model. Today it names the model, its publisher and its license, not the conversion.
6.5 Use of the AI Assistant. The AI Models' licenses govern the model files; our Beta, Coming Soon and AI Assistant Terms govern the AI Assistant's use and what we promise about it.
7. These licenses and our EULA
7.1 Each component's license governs that component. Nothing in the EULA, our Terms of Service or any other agreement with us limits the rights that a component's license gives you for that component.
7.2 Some components' licenses (the LGPL) ask that you be allowed to modify the component, replace it with a modified version, or reverse engineer the Software as far as needed to debug such a change. To that extent, the restrictions in the EULA do not apply (EULA section 17.1). Our support does not cover an Installation in which a component has been replaced (Support Policy, section 7.1(i)). [to be confirmed]
7.3 These licenses cover only the components, not our own code, our names or the Software as a whole, which the EULA licenses.
7.4 The components come with their licenses' own disclaimers of warranty and liability. Any warranty and support for the Software comes from us (EULA, Support Policy), not from their authors.
7.5 The names and logos of these projects and of the AI Models belong to their owners. We name them only to identify them, not to suggest that their owners endorse the Software.
8. Changes to this page
8.1 We update this page when we release an Update, so that it describes the current release.
8.2 Earlier versions of this page stay on the Website. For an earlier version of the Software, the notices file installed with it is its record; we can also send its notices on request.
9. Reporting a mistake
9.1 Write to support@livingroomlogistics.com if a component, version, license or notice is missing or wrong (also as its author, to have its notice changed), with the component's name and version and what is wrong.
9.2 We will look into each report and reply. If something is wrong, we will correct this page as soon as we reasonably can, and the notices file in the next Update.
