Why I built LivingRoom
For more than 15 years I've worked on the operations side of business. I've worked in warehouses, managed customer accounts, and owned and run small businesses, including a third-party logistics company. Today I sell on Walmart Marketplace through Walmart Fulfillment Services, with a prep center handling my inbound stock.
Along the way I used a lot of software, and paid a lot for it. Most of it was built for someone else: big companies with big budgets, or simple tools that tracked sales but not what a product really cost by the time it reached the customer. None of it answered the question I cared about most: after the vendor, the freight, the prep center, the marketplace fees, the refunds and the advertising, what did I actually make on each unit?
So I built the tool I needed. I took everything I'd learned in warehouses, logistics, customer management and running my own businesses, and designed LivingRoom around how sellers actually work. Because I understand how software is put together, I could spell out exactly what it had to do (purchase orders, prep centers, WFS, settlements and true landed cost, all in one place) and see it built the right way, test by test.
LivingRoom gives small businesses the tools big businesses have, at a price a small business can afford. It runs on your own computer, your data stays with you, and when you have a question, you're talking to the person who built it.
